The Virginia Baseball Coaches Association (VBCA) today announces that it will host its inaugural annual clinic from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1 at the Omni Hotel in Charlottesville, Va.

The VBCA, formed earlier this year to unite, educate and support baseball coaches of all levels in Virginia, will welcome a variety of coaches and thought leaders for a weekend of learning. While the final lineup of presenters and full agenda will be announced in the coming weeks, presenters scheduled to appear include:

  • Paul Mainieri – head coach, Louisiana State University
  • Brian O’Connor – head coach, University of Virginia
  • Tom Walter – head coach, Wake Forest University
  • Shawn Stiffler – head coach, Virginia Commonwealth University
  • Chas Pippitt – founder, The Baseball Rebellion
  • Lucas Jadin – lead trainer, Train 2B Clutch
  • Todd “Parney” Parnell – vice president and COO, Richmond Flying Squirrels
  • Jeremy Sheetinger – college division liaison, American Baseball Coaches Association
  • Tyler Wilson – pitcher with the LG Twins of the Korea Baseball Organization (formerly of the Baltimore Orioles)

“Our goal as an organization is to create better coaches, better players and better people,” said Tim Merry, founder and executive director of the VBCA and head coach at Trinity Episcopal School in Richmond. “We’re putting together a lineup of speakers who can share insights on all aspects of the game, from the physical and mental aspects to organization and training techniques.”
