Hitachi Energy Sponsors VBCA Hall of Fame in Honor of Halifax County’s Coach Kenneth Day

The Virginia Baseball Coaches Association (VBCA) is proud to announce an exciting new initiative with Hitachi Energy, which will serve as the presenting sponsor of the VBCA Hall of Fame for the next five years. This sponsorship agreement aims to elevate the Hall of Fame event, which celebrates and honors outstanding coaches and contributors to the game of baseball in Virginia.

The sponsorship is being made in recognition of Coach Kenneth Day, the current head baseball coach at Halifax County High School in South Boston, Virginia. Coach Day’s tireless commitment to the sport and his profound impact on the Halifax community have earned him a reputation as a transformative figure in baseball.

Ryland Clark, Community Relations and Engagement Manager of Hitachi Energy commented, “through his dedication, expertise, and mentorship, Coach Day has gone above and beyond the typical role of a coach. He has inspired countless players, coaches, parents, and volunteers, acting as a positive force in his community and leaving an indelible mark on baseball across Virginia and beyond. His contributions to the sport, both on and off the field, have enriched countless lives and serve as a testament to the spirit of the VBCA Hall of Fame”.

As part of this initiative, the Hall of Fame will officially be presented as:

The sponsorship reflects Hitachi Energy’s commitment to supporting local communities and promoting excellence in sports, education, and mentorship. In addition to celebrating the accomplishments of the Hall of Fame inductees, the sponsorship highlights the legacy of individuals like Coach Day, whose leadership and service extend far beyond the win-loss column.

The VBCA Hall of Fame is a cornerstone of the association, celebrating the best and brightest in Virginia baseball. This agreement  with Hitachi Energy ensures that the Hall of Fame will continue to grow and inspire generations of players and coaches while recognizing the invaluable contributions of legends like Coach Kenneth Day.
