RICHMOND, Va. (May 13, 2026) – The Virginia Baseball Coaches Association (VBCA) today announces a strategic partnership with Prep Baseball, establishing PBR as an official partner in assisting the VBCA in supporting baseball coaches and advancing high school baseball across Virginia.
The collaboration blends VBCA’s leadership and advocacy for coaches at all levels in Virginia with Prep Baseball’s nationally recognized platform for player evaluation, data, recruiting exposure, and broad knowledge of the high school and travel baseball landscape. VBCA and Prep Baseball will work together to expand opportunities for baseball players and provide valuable resources to coaches in Virginia.
“Prep Baseball Virginia/D.C. has been a supporter of VBCA from the beginning, but this partnership brings our connection to another level,” said Tim Merry, executive director of the VBCA. “Prep Baseball excels in promoting players and baseball programs through its events, social media, and podcasts. We see this as an opportunity also to be an added resource for coaches across the commonwealth.”
Jason Burton, scouting director for Prep Baseball Virginia/D.C., added: “Coaches are an invaluable part of what we do in highlighting players in Virginia and Washington, D.C. Through them, we find out what players we need to get to know, what players we need to see. We’re excited to enhance our relationship with Virginia’s baseball coaches through this partnership.”
Key elements of the partnership include:
- Prep Baseball will be a featured partner at the VBCA Annual Convention and participate in select sessions designed to benefit coaches and programs statewide.
- VBCA and Prep Baseball plan to grow the Commonwealth Classic into a premier Spring Break baseball event, enhancing competition and increasing exposure for teams and players.
- VBCA members will gain added exposure through Prep Baseball’s Virginia/D.C. rankings and media platforms, connecting Virginia players with college recruiting opportunities.
- The organizations expect to co-develop events and social media content, including podcast features and event coverage to highlight players and coaches in Virginia.
- VBCA aims to facilitate meaningful coaching connections between Prep Baseball and baseball coaches across the state.
