Last year at this time, the Virginia Baseball Coaches Association (VBCA) launched to unite, educate and support baseball coaches at all levels in Virginia.

We’re excited about all that we have accomplished so far. More than 300 coaches signed on as members, and nearly 200 coaches welcomed the likes of LSU coach Paul Mainieri, Virginia coach Brian O’Connor and Wake Forest coach Tom Walter to our first convention in Charlottesville at the end of November. On-campus coaching clinics at the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech were planned, yet unfortunately postponed because of weather, but provide a glimpse of the types of hands-on events we intend to offer.

As we take our second time at bat, our main focus is continuing to spread the word about the VBCA. While we’re thrilled at the number of coaches who have become members and shared feedback about where the VBCA can help, we know there are many more coaches out there that we can impact.

I encourage you to take a look at what the VBCA is doing and consider joining as a member for 2019. And please share this with your staff or any baseball coaches in your area since we aspire to assist coaches of all levels. Don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.

I look forward to seeing you on a baseball diamond soon.
